How do students request accommodations?
Students are required under Section 504 to communicate the need for accommodations and provide documentation to the Academic Resource Center Accommodations Office in AL 213. Students who require accommodations have conditions that interfere with any of the following: reading, writing, listening, thinking, speaking, hearing, walking, etc. The provided documentation will assist the Academic Accommodations personnel in determining the most reasonable and appropriate accommodations. The student and the supervisor of Academic Accommodations will meet to discuss the specific needs and what has been successful in the past. Together they will determine what current accommodations would give the student the most access to both academic and non-academic activities on the campus. A letter is then prepared by the Accommodations office so the student can provide the necessary information to faculty and/or staff. Students may request accommodations online here.
